Why I built Flock My Saddle
Society of Master Saddlers Qualified. 30+ years.
Personally trained by Thorsten Fichtbauer.
For more than a decade, I fit saddles in the field — Albion, County, Prestige, Custom, Amerigo, Stubben, and countless others from every major brand. I worked from my mobile unit, from trailers, from barn aisles, through weather shifts and compressing schedules.
I learned quickly what strip flocking actually requires — hours of patient, meticulous work in conditions that are rarely conducive to that work.
A full restoration takes time, precision, and a dedicated workshop. Most saddles that need it never get it, because having that conversation in the field is difficult.
So I built the Flock My Saddle Workshop to remove that obstacle.
The Qualification Behind the Work
Over three decades working with the industry's leading saddle makers — across both dressage, eventing, and hunter/jumper disciplines — I've learned that no two saddles restore the same way.
From traditional wool-flocked designs to modern French performance saddles, each has its own internal structure, balance, and material behavior.
That depth of experience means every saddle that comes into this workshop is assessed independently, without bias to brand — focused entirely on restoring correct function for your horse and rider.
Kyrena Parkinson is a Society of Master Saddlers (UK) Qualified Saddle Fitter — the gold standard of professional saddle fitting credentials in the English-speaking world.
SMS qualification requires rigorous training, examination, and a demonstrated commitment to the welfare of horse and rider.
That standard doesn't change at the workshop door.
Every restoration at FlockMySaddle is performed to the same level of care and precision that qualification demands.
